June 18, 2008 - Day 9
Today Brendan got to meet his Mom mom and Pop pop H. The nurse today was Anne Marie, she was really nice and seemed to really like Brendan. More good news today..Brendan pooped...finally! Yes this is a big deal because he hadn't pooped yet in his life. If he didn't poop soon the doctors were going to do some testing, so now we can avoid that. They are upping Brendan's food intake by an ounce since he is tolerating the formula so well. Also Brendan's insulin was lowered to .1 ounces from .2 ...another step in the right direction. The IV in his head will come out on day 14 if he hasn't needed a blood transfusion. I got to hold Brendan today, non kangaroo style since we had visitors. Devins mom and dad were as surprised as we were about how long Brendan is. Anne Marie said how Brendan was sleeping all morning...he wore himself out pooping hahah. He woke up a little bit when we were there.
On Friday Devin and I have our first family meeting about Brendan with the doctors.
