July 16, 2008 - Day 36
Today Brendan took another big step forward...the doctors took him off caffeine. The caffeine was good for his lungs but also they think a source of the reflux. His lungs are doing well enough now that it was safe to take him off the caffeine. He had a pretty uneventful day, just one brady overnight last night.
Tonight I got to do his feeding it was great and he managed to stay awake for the whole feeding. He had been falling asleep during his feedings. Brendan had a brady while I was feeding him. Still just as scary as it was the other night (Sunday?). The nurses say it is a good sign though that the bradys and desats are becoming less frequent, so we will take their word on that. Other then that it was a good day for Brendan.
