July 6, 2008 - Day 27

July 6, 2008 - Day 27

Brendan had an iffy day today. He had more Brady's and desats then he has been having but the nurses, Francine and Debbie, both agree it is because he is still figuring out how to use his lungs. Also they are adjusting his oxygen in an attempt to get him off of it and breathing on his own. Brendan is still receiving caffeine everyday to help his lungs out today because of the increase in Brady's they gave him a bowlus of caffeine, which is just a higher dosage then usual. He did not have any reflux with his feeding today so tomorrow they will give him a slight increase in his feedings.

I got to hold Brendan tonight for the first time in a week! He was wide awake looking back and forth at me and Devin. He also really loves his pacifier. Tonight for the first time we heard Brendan sneeze... he has the cutest sneeze I have ever heard. He also had a good grip on my finger I don't think he wanted me to leave. Today we also noticed that Brendan's eyelashes are finally coming in.
